Thomas Lange

Fifteen. Curious. Trying to understand the unknown.

I like to consume knowledge and ask questions about my surroundings — computers, races, old books, new science, and the world itself.

01 — About

A freshman who wants the full picture.

I'm Thomas. I'm 15, a freshman at Greenwich High School, and I spend a lot of time figuring out how things work. Not just the answers — the mechanisms. Why a program runs. Why a race is won in the last ten meters. Why a sentence written two thousand years ago still lands.

I like math because it is honest. I like science because it is willing to be wrong. I like stories because they keep questions alive after the facts run out.

02 — Code

Computers, on purpose.

I write Python, JavaScript, and CSS. I like learning how computers actually work — not just clicking buttons until something happens. Sometimes I vibe code: sit down with an idea and build until it exists.

  • Python Logic, scripts, and the first language that made a computer feel like a tool I could actually hold.
  • JavaScript The part of the web that moves. I like making pages do something, not just sit there.
  • CSS Design is another kind of problem. Shape, space, type — then make it hold together on a phone.

03 — Track

Short races. Honest work.

I run the 100 and the 200. I also work out and train because I want my body to keep up with my mind. Sprint work is simple: you get what you put in, and the clock does not care about excuses.

01

100m

Start, drive, hold. A race short enough that every step is a decision.

02

200m

Speed plus patience. The curve, then the fight to stay tall at the end.

03

Training

Lifting, running, showing up. Exercise is how I stay sharp off the track too.

04 — Library

Old epics, strange futures.

I read Greek epics and Shakespearean plays. I also like sci-fi. One side of the shelf is thousands of years old. The other side is asking what happens if we get the future wrong — or right.

The Iliad
The Odyssey
Macbeth
Julius Caesar
Sci-Fi
The Bible

A working shelf, not a finished one. I keep adding to it.

05 — Mind

Problems, people, and the unknown.

Math

I like figuring out problems. Math is a clean place to think: if the work is right, the answer holds.

Science

I want to know how the world is put together — from machines on a desk to systems too big to see.

Economics Club

At GHS I am part of the Economics Club. Another way of asking why people choose what they choose.

Games

I like to play video games. Worlds with rules you can learn, then break, then learn again.

06 — Faith

I am Christian.

I read the Bible. Faith is not a side project for me — it is part of how I look at the world, the same way I look at code or a race or a hard problem: with attention.

My goal in life is to understand the unknown about the world.
